Koka Booth – Cary, NC

Koka Booth AmphitheatreHave you been to Koka Booth Amphitheatre? They have all kinds of events like Beer, Bourbon and BBQ, Fireworks during the Fourth of July, and so much more. One of my favorite events that they have through out the summer is Movies by Moonlight sponsored by WakeMed. There are still a couple showings left this season such as Despicable Me 2 on August 8th, Captain Phillips on August 9th and a Grease Sing-A-Long on August 23rd.

You can call or check out their website for more information on events that they have going on through out the year. If you are unsure about an event due to weather, you can always call the venue the day of and they will let you know what the plan is, which can be very helpful! Keep an eye out for some events going on later on in the year that might be posted here on Lifestyles of the Triangle NC!

Cary Arts Center/Downtown Theater – Cary, NC

Downtown Cary TheaterWe posted last year about the new Downtown Cary Theater being in the works, and for anyone who has been in the area recently you know that it is in full swing since this past February! There have been movie showings and a Swing Night there so far. For more information on events, make sure to check out the Town of Cary Website for all events downtown.

Last week we started the series on Community Arts Centers with the one in Fuquay Varina, and we continue this week with Cary, Raleigh, Holly Springs and Apex. The Cary Arts Center opened in 2012 and has held Cultural Events, Many Arts Classes and performances from groups such as the Applause! Cary Youth Theater Group. Their doors are open through out the week for those who want to walk through and see the transformation from the Old High School to Arts Center. You can find different program books regarding events for Teens, Kids, Seniors and much more. The staff is wonderful and helpful. While you are visiting, check out the work being done on the future Coffee Shop on the corner of Academy Street.

Stars Theater & Arts Center – Fuquay Varina

Ballroom in Stars Theater and Arts CenterWe are getting a little off topic from what we had earlier this week on different forms of Transportation, but to be honest I know the ones in Cary and Raleigh very well! I have not heard of anything like the C Tran or Lyft in Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina or Apex. But if there is please feel free to send me a comment so I can educate myself and others!

Next week’s theme was going to look at what else the community has to offer, so how about looking into local Art Centers? First up we are show casing Fuquay Varina and the Stars Theater & Arts Center. The center provides drama classes to help increase confidence in children, as well as doubles are a venue for your next event! It has a unique Castle design exterior with a lobby, ballroom, dance studio, a theater that holds 147 and a large loft. You may rent out one section of the building or event the entire place for your next event! How cool is that??? Check out their contact information below to get more details on the center itself.
