Raleigh is FULL of Community Centers!

In the city of Raleigh there are 25 different community centers spread through out! Each offers different programs for families, no matter what age, including fitness, arts and youth centered programs. I can’t sit here and list them all out for you, because that would be far too much information for you to take in so I shall point out a few!

Brier Creek ParkOne of them is Brier Creek Park, located on the campus of Brier Creek Elementary School. It is 10 acres and was built in 2006. The facility includes an air conditioned gymnasium, fitness room, art room, meeting rooms and a kitchen used for catering

Halle Cultural Arts Center – Apex, NC

The Halle Cultural Arts Center The Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex holds so many events, that I think for this post I will only be able to scratch the surface of them all! They have a goal to promote cultural arts, artistic awareness and appreciation through concerts, community involvement, and special visual presentations. Inside this beautiful building you will find three galleries, a studio classroom, a theater that seats 150, Full Dressing rooms and a catering kitchen.

It opened its doors in 1912 when Apex only had about 700 people. The first floor actually used to be a Farmers Market and in the back was a jail containing two cells AND the firehouse! Isn’t that insane? All that could be found in this one building. Upstairs held the Mayor’s Office and  theater in an Opera Style Seating. This building has a lot of history and if you are ever in the Downtown Apex area, I highly recommend checking out this extraordinary piece of history.

Stars Theater & Arts Center – Fuquay Varina

Ballroom in Stars Theater and Arts CenterWe are getting a little off topic from what we had earlier this week on different forms of Transportation, but to be honest I know the ones in Cary and Raleigh very well! I have not heard of anything like the C Tran or Lyft in Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina or Apex. But if there is please feel free to send me a comment so I can educate myself and others!

Next week’s theme was going to look at what else the community has to offer, so how about looking into local Art Centers? First up we are show casing Fuquay Varina and the Stars Theater & Arts Center. The center provides drama classes to help increase confidence in children, as well as doubles are a venue for your next event! It has a unique Castle design exterior with a lobby, ballroom, dance studio, a theater that holds 147 and a large loft. You may rent out one section of the building or event the entire place for your next event! How cool is that??? Check out their contact information below to get more details on the center itself.
