Attention Caniac Nation! The 2013-2014 Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Season is in full swing! We missed out on a lot of the excitement last year with the lockout and cannot wait to jump right into things this year! They had an amazing pre-season and already played their first two games against the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers. Tomorrow nights game is going to be the first away game of the season against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Hockey nation is very big in Raleigh, NC. The team relocated to North Carolina in 1997, after first being established as the New England Whalers (later known of the Hartford Whalers) in 1971. They won their first Stanley Cup during the 2005-2006 Hockey season, beating the Edmonton Oilers. Carolina Hurricanes games had an average attendance of 16,000 during their last season, almost double what they got the first year they were in North Carolina. As long as you are in the Raleigh area, I would highly recommend going to see a game and getting into the excitement at the PNC Arena.
